Shiplake Tennis Club runs a Championship for all members. See details below for the 2023 edition.
Championships at Shiplake Tennis Club 2023
The Championship Committee is pleased to announce the launch of this season’s Club Championship, which (for the benefit of any new members) is run as a fun, competitive competition (for Club members only) with pairs selected at random in the doubles competitions. It’s open to all abilities, the only qualification you need is a valid membership!
To avoid confusion and disappointment please note all players should be prepared to participate in Finals Day on Sept 10th. Attendance at the Draw Meeting is optional but encouraged!
The Format of some of the Competitions is different, so please take note of the following:
Formats of the Competitions
- Men’s Singles – Knockout
- Men’s Doubles – Knockout
- Ladies Singles – Knockout
- Ladies Doubles – Knockout
- Mixed Doubles – Mini-Leagues finishing June 10th followed by 2 Knockout rounds
- Vets Mixed Doubles* – Mini-Leagues finishing July 10th followed by 1 Knockout round
- Mixed Doubles Plate**- 1 Knockout round following the Mixed Doubles mini-Leagues
* To qualify for the Vets competition players should be over 55 years of age on Jan 1st 2023
** The Mixed Doubles plate will be taken from the pairs who do not make it through to the knockout rounds of the mixed doubles by right, there will be 2 rounds of knockout matches before the final.
