COVID-19 update – 19 July 2021
The UK has now moved to Step 4 of the Government roadmap, meaning that most legal restrictions have been lifted. There are no longer any restrictions on how many people can take part in tennis activity, indoors or outdoors.
However, the LTA has issued guidelines to help keep everyone involved in tennis safe. This includes:
Check for COVID-19 symptoms: if you, or anyone you live with, have one or more COVID-19 symptoms, you should not visit the Club, or attend any sporting or social events, even if your symptoms are mild. You should follow NHS guidance on testing and self-isolation. If you have been informed that you need to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace (or are required to self-isolate in relation to travel), you must do so. You should not leave your isolation location in order to attend any Club-related events.
Check-in using QR codes: although no longer a legal requirement, we respectfully ask that all members continue to “check-in” using the QR codes provided at the Club. This will help support NHS Test and Trace, and reduce the risk of transmitting the virus.
Take part safely: please follow good hygiene practices, such as using the hand sanitiser provided, avoid sharing water bottles or other refreshment containers, and consider fist bumps or racket taps at the end of games rather than shaking hands – please be respectful of the wishes of other participants.
The Committee is delighted that normality appears to be returning, at least for now, but please continue to use the Club in such a way that makes it a safe place for everyone.
