Notice for neighbours: Contract for courts refurbishment Autumn 2018

24th September 2018

Dear Neighbour

Shiplake Tennis & Social Club – Contract for courts refurbishment autumn 2018

We are writing to all of our neighbours to alert them that commencing Monday 1 October 2018 through 31 October 2018, works will be ongoing on the Club’s three courts adjacent to the Memorial Hall to deal with refurbishment of two of the courts and reconstruction of the third court adjacent to the bowls club premises.

During the period of the contract there will be a small increase in car traffic for the workmen on site, and there will be heavy transport delivering material to the contract, removing excavated spoil from the contract and delivering plant to the contract from time to time.

The Club has appointed Chiltern Sports Contractors Limited to carry out these works and they will have a full time manager on site daily.

The contractor has been briefed with the need for utmost care and slow speeds on the access road from the main A4155 Henley to Reading road to the Memorial Hall.

The Club and the contractor have met with their landlord, the Memorial Hall, to make them fully aware of all that is ongoing and gain their approval to the works and the memorial hall is also liaising with the bowls club.

The contractor will be erecting signage to give warning of the works in appropriate locations.

The Club will also be placing this letter on the Shiplake Villages website.

Could we ask that all vehicles and pedestrians take the utmost care during this period.

The Club will be working with the contractor to ensure that disturbance is kept to a minimum.

There will be no weekend working. Site hours in the week will be during the period 08:00 to 18:00 daily.

Within the curtilage of the Memorial Hall there will be a works compound setup, which will be fully fenced, and the path to the Bowls Club will be still available but shut during a number of the work operations where material delivery and deposit on site particularly will involve the use of dump trucks.

There will be no deliveries or collections at the site before 09.15 or after 15.00.

The Club asks that all users of the Memorial Hall take the utmost care when driving in, parking and walking.

As to contact with the Club if there are any questions now or during the course of the works, please contact Diana Jones, whose details are as follows:

The Club and its Members thank all for their patience and forbearance while these works are carried out.

Yours sincerely
